SoftMetal video servers from Ross Video will be installed in HD production control rooms in Vancouver, British Columbia, to cover the 2010 Olympic Winter Games live. The 3000 and 4000 series media servers come with I/O and storage contained in a 3RU frame.
Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium will use Vision series production switchers and several SoftMetal video servers from Ross Video in its Olympic HD production control rooms in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, which begin in February.
This year, Ross Video entered a five-year agreement with CTVglobemedia to provide HD production control room technologies for all CTV properties. Under this agreement, CTV has exercised the right to purchase additional systems for the Olympics.
Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium was formed to develop a tight relationship between leading media conglomerates CTV and Rogers Media, which together will provide coverage in English, French and other languages on multiple platforms for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games.
