Roundbox at the NAB Show released Roundbox Mobile Broadcast Suite version 5.0, which provides standards-based building blocks for Mobile DTV broadcasters, device makers and mobile operators.
Based on open standards, the suite is designed to work with existing network architectures and a variety of devices, including handheld mobile phones, PCs, netbooks, in-car entertainment devices, receivers, chips, media players and other software platforms.
The suite of products includes:
- the Roundbox Server, which centrally manages mobile broadcast services;
- the Roundbox Client SDK, which provides device makers a complete protocol stack, binary applications and test samples needed to build devices supporting TV and advanced data services on mobile networks;
- the Roundbox ESG application, to make discovery and navigation of content easy and intuitive; and
- Roundbox Managed, a service for those wishing to deploy Roundbox without managing day-to-day operations.
