Scripps-Howard continues deployment of SSL consoles among its stations

WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, FL, has installed a Solid State Logic C100 HD console for its news department and studio productions, replacing an existing analog audio board.

The new 32-fader, 64-channel C100 HD console supports the audio throughput of on-air news personalities and server-based content, while streamlining the production flow of the station.

The C100 console is being used every day by the station for five hours of live news programming. It is housed in an audio booth within the main control room, servicing both the live news set and an interview set. The recall capabilities of the C100 allow the engineering staff at WPTV to easily move between shows and anchors. The ability to preselect and store settings for each anchor and microphone has greatly streamlined the changeover process. For the recent national election coverage, this capability was invaluable.

WPTV is the sixth Scripps-Howard C100 installation, joining WEWS-TV in Cleveland, OH; WFTS-TV in Tampa, FL; WMAR-TV in Baltimore, MD; the Food Network in New York City; and the Great American Country facility in Nashville, TN, serving the Country Music Cable Network.
