Scripps Stations centralize graphics production with Chyron Axis

Scripps Television is centralizing graphics production for all of its stations at its Tampa, FL-based station, WFTS-DT. Chyron’s Axis Internet-based graphics software will handle much of the workload, whereby journalists and producers will use preconfigured graphics templates that adhere to a particular station’s on-air look.

Graphics are created at the desktop, then rendered “in the cloud” by Chyron servers and delivered through the Internet.

Thus far, four Scripps stations are using the Axis system, WEWS, the ABC affiliate in Cleveland; WCPO, the ABC station in Cincinnati; WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, FL; and KSHB, the NBC station in Kansas City. KSHB went live on the new Axis system two weeks ago.
