Among the products Softel will highlight during IBC2009 are the vFlex range of data insertion solutions, the Swift subtitling solutions, the Cyclone Teletext solutions and the MediaSphere interactive TV content solutions.
Softel will demonstrate the full features of vFlex HD, its ancillary data processing system for HD. It offers a platform for VBI and VANC data processing for SD and HD SDI, as well as graphics insertion.
The vFlex is Softel's new generation SDI inserter, supporting insertion of subtitle, Teletext, wide screen signaling and other ancillary data into the transport stream. Offering support for opt cue encode and decode and bridging, vFlex enables complete flexibility in SDI broadcasting.
Additionally vFlex combines data processing with CG and graphic keying, allowing the insertion of clocks, bugs and other graphics into the transmitted video.

MPEG/IP delivery offers lower costs, higher bandwidth, greater efficiency, and new application possibilities over the traditional methods, such as: Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and RF networks. Along with the benefits, come a number of challenges. One of the biggest challenges is a mechanism to recover lost data in real-time. This paper will attempt to shed some light on the inner workings of the real-time data recovery mechanism: Pro-MPEG Code of Practice #3 Forward Error Correction (CoP#3 FEC). Read Now
