Expanding upon its popular PCM-D1 and PCM-D50 portable audio recorders, Sony has introduced the palm-sized PCM-M10.

The PCM-M10 is especially well-suited for recording interviews in broadcast sports and journalism. The new recorder is 96kHz/24-bit capable with electret condenser stereo microphones, 4GB of internal flash memory and a microSD/Memory Stick Micro slot.

Key features include a built-in speaker, crossmemory recording, digital pitch control, digital limiter, low-cut filter, track mark functions, a five-second prerecording buffer and A-B repeat capability. The PCM-M10 comes supplied with Sound Forge Audio Studio Recorder Edition software.

The recorder includes a USB high-speed port for simple uploading and downloading of native WAV or MP3 format recorded files to and from Windows or Macintosh computers. The M10 runs on two AA alkaline batteries.
