Swedish broadcaster SVT has added four additional vehicle-based SNGstreamer systems to its existing pair of units as part of a program to expand its satellite newsgathering resources to 12 regional TV channels.
The six units will be used to provide live video links of regional news directly to national and regional TV news programs. The SNGstreamer systems offer SVT the advantages of MPEG-4 video encoding and the latest satellite communications capabilities. The complete SNG system includes a vehicle-based mobile uplink station and two fixed downlink stations at the SVT studio in Karlstad and Stockholm.
