T-VIPS to unveil DVB-T2 Gateway

Sep 9, 2009 2:53 PM

At IBC2009, T-VIPS will introduce the DVB-T2 Gateway. The product fills the gap in the DVB-T2 solutions set by integrating with existing DVB-T headends and DVB-T2 modulators to enable terrestrial operators to migrate to DVB-T2 and take advantage of a 30 percent to 50 percent increase in bandwidth efficiency.

The latest member of the cProcessor product range, the DVB-T2 Gateway is all of the hardware that’s required to convert a DVB-T headend for full DVB-T2 compliance. Situated in the headend after the multiplexer, the T-VIPS DVB-T2 Gateway protects an operator’s investment in existing DVB-T infrastructure and allows broadcasters to take advantage of the increased bandwidth efficiency of DVB-T2 to launch new services, such as HD and VOD.

It also allows an operator to have DVB-T and DVB-T2 services coexist side by side in a network.
