Tektronix, Vqual partner on development of new tools for next-generation video standards

Tektronix has signed an agreement with Vqual, a UK-based video software developer, to develop and market software solutions that let consumer electronics manufacturers, professional video equipment manufacturers and mobile phone manufacturers bring devices to market more rapidly.

Next-generation video compression standards provide significant bandwidth advantages over traditional broadcast compression standards and offer additional services at a reduced cost with no compromise in video quality.

To capitalize on the new standards, engineers need ways to verify standards compliance as well as analyze and compare the performance of various video compression/decompression (codec) algorithms.

The partnership offers new capabilities that will enable developers, manufacturers and users of these technologies to design and test new devices, products and services.
