Videotek debuts serial digital macroblock-detection module

Videotek's SQM-275 serial digital macroblock detection module

Videotek debuted the SQM-275 serial digital macroblock detection module for its Signal Quality Manager (SQM) product line at IBC2004.

The SQM-275 monitors serial digital video for the presence of SD macroblocks. Upon detection, the system automatically sends an alarm to an operator and logs the time and duration of MPEG-2 macroblocks that occur when video is overly compressed or has a high bit-error rate.

For real-time, unattended monitoring, Videotek's SQM serves as the eyes and ears of any facility's operations center, continuously monitoring the conditions of all common audio and video formats including analog, digital, MPEG and HD.
