Streaming video solutions company ViewCast will purchase digital asset software company Ancept Media Server, according to an agreement the companies signed on March 5, 2009. The combined company will have an expanded global business presence and offer a complete set of solutions for transforming, managing and delivering live and on-demand video content to broadband and mobile networks.
Ancept's software manages and automates media, from production through scheduling, editing, processing and content distribution, and uses IBM Filenet and IBM Content Manager. ViewCast CEO and President Dave Stoner said the acquisition substantially increases the company’s market opportunity and represents a key step forward in ViewCast’s strategy to address the broader market for production and management of digital media content.
