VISLINK LINK L1500 delivers wireless U.S. Open coverage in HD

For this year’s U.S. Open Tennis championship at Flushing Meadows, NY, CP Communications provided two VISLINK News and Entertainment LINK L1500 high-definition wireless camera systems — operating one in 20MHz dual pedestal mode.

The combination of dual pedestal mode and the L1500-optimized LMS-T modulation scheme enabled the capture of panoramic high-definition shots of the fast-paced tennis action. These systems provided live national broadcasts for CBS Sports, which in turn provided feeds to ESPN2, the Tennis Channel and international broadcasters.

Vislink’s LMS-T delivers a high-performance alternative to DVB-T for wireless camera systems. It exploits more channel bandwidth than DVB-T and adds superior error correction. It does not suffer from excessive drop-outs and interference at the bandwidths required for high-quality HD transmission.
