Vislink wireless camera systems capture Boston’s Winter Classic hockey game

Video production company CP Communications (CP Comm) used several Vislink wireless camera systems to cover the Winter Classic outdoor hockey game at Boston’s Fenway Park on New Year's Day. A hockey rink was set up on top of the diamond at the historic baseball stadium for a game between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers.

A combination of Link Research L1500 transmitters and L2134 receivers were employed to provide live coverage for the NHL Network and an on-site large HD screen. CP Comm chose the Link L1500 transmitters because they provide very low latency while allowing operators to freely move about the ballpark.

The modular design of the L1500 allows users to start from a standard SD transmitter and add camera control and HD capability as required. It includes the ability to change RF modules in the field as needed to cover a frequency range of 1GHz-7GHz.
