Commission to hold additional DTV consumer education workshops

The FCC will hold additional DTV workshops during the next 16 months focused on communities identified as being likely to be disproportionately impacted by the digital transition and least aware of it.

The groups include seniors, minorities and non-English speakers, people with disabilities, low-income earners and those living in rural areas.

The next workshops are:

  • Nov. 8, 2007 — This workshop will focus on issues related to preparing seniors for the DTV transition.
  • Dec. 4, 2007 — This event will address issues related to preparing minority and non-English-speaking consumers for the DTV transition.

Both will be held at the FCC headquarters in Washington, D.C. Webcasts of the workshops will be available on the commission’s Web site.
