Harris to supply Georgia Public Broadcasting with transmission equipment

Broadcast Integration Group, part of TI Broadcast Solutions Group, has awarded Harris a transmission contract for all nine stations in the statewide Georgia Public Broadcasting PBS station group.

The order includes seven Harris Platinum-i VHF DTV transmitters, two Diamond UHF DTV transmitters and two Platinum VHF NTSC analog transmitters.

The DTV transmitters will be outfitted with the Harris Apex digital exciter, and every transmitter will feature the company's eCDi system, which enables remote control and monitoring of any transmitter in the network.

TI Broadcast Solutions Group of Norcross, GA, will handle transmitter integration and program management for the statewide project, including architectural services and general construction, existing tower refurbishment, new tower construction and antenna replacements.

Georgia Public Broadcasting, which serves every county in the state, includes WGTV-TV in Atlanta, WABW-TV in Albany, WCES-TV in Augusta, WCLP-TV in Chatsworth, WJSP-TV in Columbus, WACS-TV in Dawson, WMUM-TV in Macon, WVAN-TV in Savannah and WXGA-TV in Waycross. All nine stations are scheduled to receive digital transmitters for installation during the next year.
