Mobile television content provider MobiTV has selected GlobeCast to manage content ingestion for the delivery of live television to its mobile and broadband platforms in North America.
For the service, GlobeCast is furnishing 24/7 channel ingest via satellite from its U.S. IP broadcasting hub in Los Angeles. It is also providing signal encoding, monitoring and connectivity of live channels for delivery into MobiTV's proprietary technology platforms.
By centralizing its channel ingestion with a worldwide satellite and fiber delivery services provider such as GlobeCast, MobiTV will more easily be able to move its content across the globe. The company is seeking to improve its international services.
