Modulation Sciences rolls out new msi-4400A features

At NAB2007, Modulation Sciences showed the new msi-4400A offering performance improvements and feature enhancements.

The added features, available locally and via remote control, keep station engineers informed about the performance of their transmitters.

The new msi-4400A’s most significant performance enhancement is in the signal-to-noise ratio measurement. ATSC recommends performance at 27dB. The msi-4400A is designed to measure transmitters that meet ATSC recommendations.

SNR with equalizers off deliver:

  • Range: 15dB to 31dB
  • Accuracy: +/- 0.5dB above 27dB; +/-1.0dB below 27dB;

Deviation of SNR from equalizer on is -4.0dB typical.

The new packet error rate feature displays on both host and client PCs. Packet error rate data is conveniently viewable from the main screen of the mis-4400A’s operating software.
