Motorola unveils DVB-H-compliant mobile TV viewing device

Motorola at last week’s CES show introduced its Motorola Mobile TV DH01 device, a DVB-H-compatible personal media player for mobile viewing of on-demand clips and programs saved on a DVR.

The DH01 supports the DVBH broadcasting standard in addition to open standards interfaces across devices, networks and application service platforms. It can handle live digital video broadcasts indoors or outdoors, recording of programs via secure digital/multimedia card (90 minutes of TV video on a 256MB card) and features automatic channel scan and listing as well as a rechargeable battery delivering up to four hours of playback time. Videos of 25fps are viewed on a 4.3in quarter video graphics array screen supporting up to 16 million colors. It also includes a five-minute memory buffer for pausing during live TV viewing.
