At its 18th Annual Television Conference to be held later this month in the nation’s capital, the Association for Maximum Service Television will turn to a number of broadcasters, experts, regulators, legislative representatives and manufacturers to address significant issues facing the broadcast industry.
With the theme “Broadcast Television: Meeting America’s Digital Demand,” the event is scheduled for Sept. 28 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Among the agenda items:
- The government’s role in the digital transition: The 85% solution;
- Unlicensed devices: Interference or efficiency;
- Digital convergence: Conflict or cooperation; and
- The mechanics of channel election and repacking.
Lunch will feature a keynote address from Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The conference begins at 9 a.m. and costs $300.
