Paxson Communications chooses Thales PEARL PSIP generators

Paxson Communications has selected Thales to supply its PEARL PSIP generators for compliance with the FCC mandate for dynamic PSIP.

Each PEARL includes nine additional multi-route options, which allows Paxson to use only five PSIP generators to produce the necessary tables for up to 50 DTV broadcast stations.

Electronic Program Guides (EPG) enhance the consumer experience with DTV and allow Paxson to better use the benefits of dynamic PSIP, including EIT and ETT population. Dynamic PSIP effectively builds the EPG for DTV receivers, providing program description information along with Paxson branding information at each station.
