TI creates projector for mobile devices

Texas Instruments (TI) is developing a chip that converts mobile phones into tiny projectors.

The pico-projector, based on the company’s DLP pico-projection technology, is about the size of a human fingertip. According to TI, its benefits include images free of the screen door effect, clear presentation of fast motion video, colors based on TI’s BrilliantColor technology and picture reliability over time. The company plans to offer it either as a standalone projector or as an integrated component in mobile devices.
