WTVO to multicast three channels with Sundance Digital automation

WTVO’s new FastBreak Automation system from Sundance Digital will assist the station in multicasting three stations from one master control.

WTVO, a Nexstar-operated station in Rockford, IL, has replaced its automation system with a Sundance Digital FastBreak Automation suite in preparation for multicasting.

The ABC affiliate will consolidate operations with WQR, Nexstar’s Fox outlet, and a UPN station to transmit three channels from the WTVO master control facility beginning this month. The Sundance Digital configuration will include the company’s Intelli-Sat Broadcast Manager to schedule and record satellite feeds, two media prep stations, a SQL server for database management, three air stations and a DDMS (Digital Delivery Management System) module for hands-free integration of Pathfire-delivered content and metadata. The Sundance package will control a Leitch Nexio server and Evertz mini master control switchers.
