ESPN, ABC Sports now available on iTunes

The Walt Disney Company announced last week that it has added content from ESPN and ABC Sports to Apple’s iTunes online store.

Going beyond sports, Disney announced it will provide iTunes with new programming from ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television, ABC Family, ABC News, Buena Vista Television, Disney Channel and SOAPnet, as well as content produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation.

ESPN and ABC Sports are the first sports content providers to iTunes. Many bowl games were available the day after they aired live. In a few weeks, ESPN will expand the offerings to include the Best Of The X Games; “SportsCentury” interviews from ESPN Classic’s award-winning biography series; and select ESPN Original Entertainment programs. Among them will be “Knight School,” the upcoming reality program featuring Texas Tech basketball coach Bobby Knight, which will premiere on iTunes.

In addition, more programming from the Disney ABC Television Group will also be available later this month on iTunes, including original series and ABC News programming. Each episode is available for $1.99.
