Sunflower Broadband uses SeaChange Technology for on-demand launch

The MediaCluster server will bring the Sunflower on-demand service to 30,000 cable subscribers.

Sunflower Broadband has chosen SeaChange International video-on-demand (VOD) platform for its Sunflower on-demand television service, set to debut in Lawrence, KS in February. The new service will be available to 30,000 cable subscribers in the nation’s 31st-largest television market.

The on-demand service will initially feature over 1000 hours of movies and television programs from sources such as NFL Network, HGTV, Food Network, Fine Living, DIY and Showtime.

SeaChange’s VOD System — a comprehensive technology platform incorporating the MediaCluster servers, end-to-end automation software and real-time broadcast recording gear —enables broadband operators to easily initiate and enhance on-demand programming services.
