Bob Poole on location with Fujinon’s HA25x16.5BERD HD ENG-Style lens mounted to a Sony F-900 HD camera.
From the remote rainforests of Gabon, West Africa, to a nature preserve in the Patagonia, director of photography Bob Poole captures HD images for wildlife, science, sports and adventure TV with Fujinon’s HA25x16.5BERD HD ENG-style lens mounted to a Sony F-900 HD camera. Since January of this year, Poole has flown back and forth between his home in Ketchum, ID, and Gabon — where he is shooting wildlife footage for an upcoming National Geographic special about the preservation of 13 of the country’s national parks.
Because Poole often shoots on foot and carries heavy equipment loads, he needs a long lens that allows him to make quick changes. The HA25x16.5BERD is lightweight and doesn’t require a support system. Poole can carry the camera with the lens on, or in his backpack, and can easily switch from a wide-angle to the long lens in a matter of seconds.
Weighing 6.5lbs, the HA25x16.5BERD is a compact telephoto lens suited for gyro-stabilized platforms in aircraft, wildlife photography in remote areas and HD surveillance applications where lightweight and unobtrusive appearance are critical.
