Viewers of Journal Broadcast Group's Milwaukee and Las Vegas stations will soon be able to contribute content to the stations' Web sites.
In partnership with Broadcast Interactive Media, a provider of online revenue, content and video streaming for more than 110 locally broadcast Web sites, WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee and KTNV-TV in Las Vegas will participate in the launch of YouNewsTV, a user-submitted video and social networking tool for local TV stations. YouNewsTV provides premium user-submitted content technology and content-editing capability to local news broadcast stations, effectively taking traditional news media outlets and allowing them to harness the growing popularity of user-generated video sites.
WTMJ and KTNV viewers will be able to submit breaking news, weather, sports and video directly to the station, where it will first be reviewed for violent, obscene, graphic and copyrighted material. Local and national advertisers will also have the ability to sponsor all YouNewsTV videos with 8- to 15-second pre-roll and display ads.
