The upgrade also allows unattended operation of the 32 TBN stations.
TV Magic, a full-service consulting and broadcast engineering company, has completed a station automation project for 32 affiliates of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The project, completed in 18 months, enables TBN to meet FCC compliance standards for digital television, and also allows unattended operation of these stations with the ability to receive network feeds and insert local programming, advertising and interstitials into the broadcast output.
The integrated broadcast system designed by TV Magic incorporates Sundance Digital's Titan automation system, Miranda terminal gear and Imagestore channel branding processors, Masstech loggers for station logging, media servers from 360 Systems and Omneon and Keywest Technology logo insertion and EAS systems.
Each facility now has a multichannel server with ingest and playout capability, branding with squeezeback functionality, a character generator, logo insertion and EAS, PSIP and TSID compliance. Miranda's iControl monitoring software gives TBN the capacity to develop remote monitoring and control from TBN's network operations facility in Tustin, CA.
