WSB-TV deploys T-VIPS video-over-IP solution for backhaul HD ENG microwave application

WSB-TV has deployed T-VIPS' TVG-420s. The application enables the Atlanta station to provide live remote compressed HD feeds over IP using microwave links from ENG relay stations back to the WSB-TV studio. Controlware Communications Systems supplied the T-VIPS solution, which was fully operational in early June.
The TVG420 provides a solution for transmission of MPEG-2 transport streams over IP networks. The TVG420 is part of T-VIPS' Video Gateway suite, a line of compact products designed for real-time contribution and distribution of video-over-IP networks. By taking advantage of the inherent flexibility of IP, broadcasters are offered an efficient, cost-effective and scalable solution for MPEG-2 video contribution over existing IP networks.
