MediaFLO USA and ESPN team up to offer TV-quality sports programming to mobile consumers.

MediaFLO USA and ESPN have announced a multiyear licensing agreement that will bring sports programming to MediaFLO USA's new mobile entertainment service. The new ESPN Mobile TV channel will offer a selection of live, simulcast sports events; comprehensive and breaking sports news, commentary and analysis; and real-time sports scores and game updates. MediaFLO will deliver this content directly to subscribers' mobile phones.

Guided by extensive primary market research and consumer trials, MediaFLO intends to secure familiar, full-length content from many of the world's leading media companies and leverage its nationwide multicast network to deliver live, full-length, TV-quality programming to mobile phones.

MediaFLO's service is expected to be available in the first quarter of this year through Verizon Wireless' V Cast Mobile TV service. Based in San Diego, MediaFLO is a subsidiary of QUALCOMM.
