Nov 13, 2009 11:34 AM
Volicon has introduced the Interactive Services Module (ISM) for the Observer RPM, the company's post-set-top-box (STB) video service assurance solution for cable, IPTV, mobile and satellite video service providers. The new ISM extends the Observer RPM with capabilities to enable operators to test the quality of linear services and on-demand and interactive content and advertising.
The Observer RPM gives operators a post-STB access point for monitoring and troubleshooting video content via powerful analytics, IR command scripting, integration with transport stream analyzers and full frame rate/resolution continuous recording. The ISM adds advanced decision-making logic, scripting and graphical pattern matching that enables monitoring of network/station bugs, interactive media guides, direct commerce, voting/polling, words and graphics in interactive menus, and detection and activation of telescoping advertising bugs. Users can write simple scripts that enable testing of the most complex interactive or on-demand services.
