SAN FRANCISCO -- Sept. 27, 2012 -- Wohler Technologies today announced the appointment of Edel Garcia as director, Central and South America (CSAM). In addition to building and maintaining relationships in this region, Garcia will strive to raise awareness and adoption of Wohler's powerful RadiantGrid" file-based workflow solutions for rapidly transforming content for multiplatform distribution, as well as the company's groundbreaking, one-of-a-kind solution for ARIB B-37-compliant captioning.
"Edel's leadership in this newly created role will be vital as we look to increase Wohler's brand strength and market penetration for our rapidly expanding new line of products in Central and South America," said Don Bird, chief marketing officer at Wohler. "He joins our team with in-depth market and industry expertise and a large range of contacts that will be important in our efforts to develop new sales relationships and further strengthen and expand opportunities through existing relationships with current customers and channel partners throughout the region."
Prior to joining Wohler, Garcia was director of sales, Latin America, for Avid, where he was responsible for sales of the company's professional product line. He earlier served as vice president of sales, Latin America, for Leitch, leading the sales and marketing team for the company's full product portfolio. At Sony Business & Professional Latin America, Garcia held roles both in engineering and, later, in senior sales management. He earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at Florida International University.
Grace Llamas will continue in her role and duties as Wohler's regional sales manager, CSAM, and will work closely with Garcia to expand the company's footprint and better support its channel partners and customers in the adoption of Wohler's legacy products, as well as its newest technologies and product offerings.
